Things to do
Walking
There are many beautiful walks through this stunning countryside.
The Elan Valley Trail is a linear path following the line of the old Birmingham Corporation Railway. The trail starts in Cwmdauddwr, just west of Rhayader and finishes 13 km (9 miles) further up the Elan Valley at Craig Goch Dam.

Glyndŵr’s Way: Meandering through 135 miles (217 Km) of stunning Welsh countryside Glyndŵr's Way offers peace and quiet as you explore open moorland, rolling farmland, woodland, and forests. Starting in Knighton and ending in Welshpool, the Trail is named after Owain Glyndŵr, Prince of Wales, and Medieval Welsh nationalist leader who organised a rebellion against the English king, Henry IV in 1400.

Good gravel routes in this area, but may require a car to get to some spots to start.

Route 825
Blaen-Y-Cwm is on the Radnor Ring National Cycle Route 825, a circular route through Radnorshire, passing through quiet country lanes through some of the most spectacular scenery in Mid-Wales.

Looking wider afield, the 825 route is well placed for a stopover for people riding further afield from the west (Worcester or Evesham) to a destination like Aberystwyth via route 81 or up to Snowdonia via route 81 and 82.
The National Cycle Museum is situated in Llandrindod Wells.
Chilling
Of course, you can always do nothing! Just relax in amongst the mature poplar trees and enjoy watching the woodpeckers and Red Kites. Have a BBQ on your private patio or go for a local scenic walk...
